BOYS AND GIRLS CLUB OF LAREDO
— Open the door to CHAMPIONS in sports & in life!

Who are we?
Built for the Community
Our league is more than a game—it’s a movement fueled by pride, unity, and opportunity. We empower players of all ages and skill levels to grow, improve, and chase their potential, while giving fans a place to connect, celebrate, and create unforgettable memories. Every matchday is a display of passion and talent—but more importantly, it’s where our community comes together and grows stronger.
Opportunities for Everyone
From grassroots beginners to seasoned athletes, our league offers programs.
More Than a Game
Our commitment goes beyond aces and touchdowns. We build character & teamwork.
What are we?
OUR PROGRAMS
Our sports programs are the heart of the community—bringing athletes together to learn, compete, and grow. From introductory flag football to competitive tackle and cheer, there’s a program for every age, skill level, and goal.

VOLLEYBALL
Our volleyball program offers a fun and supportive environment where players of all skill levels can learn the game, develop fundamentals, and enjoy the excitement of team competition. For many young athletes, it’s their first step into competitive volleyball—and their chance to be part of Laredo’s proud volleyball tradition.

FOOTBALL
Our football program is where young athletes begin their journey into the excitement and culture of Texas football. Competing in both 5v5 and 7v7 formats, players experience the fast-paced world of international flag football alongside the competitive style of high school 7-on-7. It’s the ideal starting point to develop skills, build confidence, and ignite a lifelong passion for the game.

TRACK & FIELD
The Conrado Cruz, Jr. Relays celebrate the enduring legacy of Conrado Cruz, Jr., whose commitment to youth athletics has shaped the Boys & Girls Clubs of Laredo since 1973. Beginning his coaching journey at Farias Elementary in 1959, Mr. Cruz has inspired generations through his dedication and passion for the sport.
Now a cornerstone event, the relays span four exciting days—three days of qualifiers leading up to the Super Track Meet, where City Champions are crowned. Athletes showcase their talents in sprints, the 4x100-meter relay, and shot put, as 27 schools from LISD, UISD, and private institutions come together in a true celebration of competition and community.

BASKETBALL
At the Boys & Girls Clubs of Laredo, basketball is more than a program—it’s a tradition. With over 450 teams spanning Pre-K4 through 6th grade, our league has been a cornerstone of the community since the 1950s. Its legacy includes the 1955–56 State Champion Martin Tigers, as well as numerous All-State and collegiate athletes. Each season, young players carry that tradition forward, with the year culminating in a memorable High School Seniors All-Star Game.
